How OLED and Mini-LED Make a Picture Differently
OLED and Mini-LED differ in whether one pixel makes its own light. An OLED pixel emits and can switch off completely, which is why black is absolute. A Mini-LED panel is lit from behind by many small zones, which is why it goes brighter and why light can bleed between zones.
Every review comparison in this category traces back to that single difference, and a shopper who understands it can evaluate any two models without the video. That is the honest goal here: not to pick a winner, but to make the specification sheet readable. Deliberately left off screen is brightness and contrast figures: measured values differ by model, by test pattern, and by review outlet, and a number stated generally will not match the unit in front of the shopper.
