Why a Bin Gets Emptied When It Is Half Full

Waste collection runs on a timetable rather than on how full anything is. A bin on a quiet corridor is emptied on the same round as the one by the canteen, so half the lifts move air and the full one overflows before its turn comes round again.

The image of an overflowing bin next to an empty one is doing all the work here, and it is immediately legible to anyone who has walked a building at four in the afternoon. The one thing to withhold is your own diversion and cost figures: collection savings and recycling rates depend entirely on the site and should be presented as a named customer's result rather than as a general claim.

Six scenes carry the pitch: one on the two bins, one on fill levels being reported rather than guessed, one on the round being planned against them, one on the contamination flag that changes what gets recycled, one on the report the sustainability lead can actually use, and one on the next step.

How to Explain a Sensor Product Without Explaining Sensors

Facilities audiences are pragmatic and mildly cynical about building technology, having bought some that is still in a cupboard. The promo works when it stays entirely on outcomes a caretaker would recognise and never mentions how the measurement happens.

Let the two bins do the arguing

Let the two bins do the arguing

One overflowing, one untouched, same corridor. No narration needed and no technology shown.

Bring contamination in as the second idea

Recycling that gets rejected at the depot is a specific, expensive failure that sensors address and that most promos in this category omit.

Speak to the caretaker and the sustainability lead at once

One wants fewer wasted rounds, the other wants a defensible number for a report. Both are in the building and neither buys alone.

Keep the dashboard to one frame

Facilities buyers assume dashboards. Showing one for a second is enough; showing three is a product video.

Point it at the overview already used with facilities teams

Upload the product overview, the pilot summary from a reference site, or the collection schedule analysis. Any of PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPTX, or TXT works, to 200 MB. Scenes arrive editable; nothing writes back to the original document.

Weigh the Round Before It Runs

Take the overview already used with facilities teams, edit what comes back, and have it out before the next sustainability report.
